"Hormones, vitamins, stimulants and depressives are oils upon the creaky

Fischer
Sport is about pushing the human body as far as is physically possible. But
what about scientific advancements that can surpass these limitations? The
expanding spheres of molecular biology and materials science give more
possibilities to extend human strength and endurance. To confuse issues
further, there are a whole host of legal supplements that can enhance
performance, and technology is improving sports equipment not just humans.
In this exciting debate examining human enhancement, join our panel of
experts to discuss the impact science is having and will have on sport:
- Dr Andy Miah (University of the West of Scotland)
- Dr Thomas Petersen (University of Roskilde, Denmark)
- Dr Alun Williams (Manchester Metropolitan University)
- Ms Clare Cunningham (Former Paralympic Swimmer - Deloitte & Touche LLP)
The panel will be chaired by Ms Michele Verroken of Sporting Integrity.
Following a short presentation from each speaker, the floor will be open to
you so we invite you to express your questions and views and come ready to
challenge the panel!

- Mastana Auditions
Get involved in MASTANA - Cambridge's biggest and greatest Asian arts
show!!!
Every year, Mastana raises thousands of pounds for charity by bringing
together Asian talent for one magical night, in an exposition of world
music, a melting-pot of traditional dance against vibrant urban beats, a
stage for colourful comedy, and a flaming catwalk. This year, it will be
held on Saturday 6th March 2010 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange, one of
Cambridge's most prestigious venues, playing to an audience of over 1000
people. And we need YOU to make it happen!
Whether in dancing, music, modelling or acting, we're looking for acts from
all parts of the world, covering the entire spectrum, from traditional to
modern! We are looking for eastern and western performers (or anyone who
can mix the two!) as long as you can take the stage and captivate the
audience!
Remember that you don't have to be Asian, size zero, or the best dancer in
the university! Mastana is about meeting new people, showcasing Cambridge's
talent and raising money for charity. This year, we are proud to support
Cancer Research UK and The Manitha Neyam Trust.
AUDITIONS will be held on:
Sunday 1st November, 2-5pm, Mong Hall, Sidney Sussex College
Tuesday 3rd Nov - 5-8pm, Bateman Room, Caius College
Thursday 5th Nov - 6-8pm, Mong Hall, Sidney Sussex College
Sunday 8th Nov - 6-8pm, Mong Hall, Sidney Sussex College
Tuesday 10th Nov - 6-8pm, Mong Hall, Sidney Sussex College
Thursday 12th Nov - 5-8pm, Green Room, Caius College
Please send us an email at mastana-acts@cuhcs.org to book a time slot or
feel free to drop in anytime between these times!
Don't worry, it doesn't need to be your actual act, and it doesn't need to
be perfect - we just want to get an idea of what you can offer. If you have
any further questions, please email mastana-acts@cuhcs.org.uk, and we'll be
happy to answer them.
