Ents
Cambridge is not renowned for its wild nightlife, but there is plenty to do of an evening if you know where to look, from live music at the Junction or the Barfly, to comedy at the Corn Exchange. Popular club nights (read: cheese) include Rumboogie (at Ballare on Wednesdays) and The Sunday Service (at Club 22). Kambar holds an indie night every Saturday, while Fat Poppadaddys hosts an eclectic mix of top DJs each Monday at Fez. For more refined pursuits the ADC hosts student theatre and there is frequently classical or jazz music on at the larger music venues.
All that makes it sound like there's rather a lot to do - but in fact you'll find that the highlight of your time at Christ's is actually the college events! Christ's Ents Team presents a 'bop' - essentially, you cross a school disco with a club night and WILL enjoy it - at the beginning and end of each term. Usually these are held in college, but this year we have started to hold these bops outside college, at venues such as Fez and the Union. They are always themed, and involve cheap entry, dressing-up, dancing, a bit of drinking if that's your thing, and student DJs to assist you in dancing the night away.
The Marguerites, the Christ's College sporting society, also typically holds two bops a year of its own, which are priced higher but include drinks. And if all that Christ's-centric fun isn't enough, some other colleges hold events open to all students, from QEnts at Queen's to the events in Clare Cellars.
