Cambridge Union
The Cambridge Union Society is VERY different from CUSU, which is the Students' Union. The Union is instead a particularly prestigious debating society: it attracts a number of high-profile speakers to talk during the week; and also to its keynote debates on Thursday evenings. Every Thursday, there is an Emergency Debate (for student debaters to practice debating) and a Main debate feauturing visiting speakers. It also puts on a number of events outside of this: it hosts a good ball (approximately) once a term; runs cocktail workshops, acts as a hireably venue, and does whatever else the committee feel like. In Christ's, if you want to know what's going on at the Union, your best bet is to speak to Albert Beardow (ab846), as he's on the committee.
