Learn to dance with Christ's Dancesport

Learn to dance in time for the May Ball!

Kenneith Yong says:

"My name is Kenneith - some of you will know me and some of you won't - but I am a part-time third year medical student at Christ's and a full-time dancer. I am writing to you in the hopes of persuading you to represent the college in the team match of the annual Cuppers Dancesport event.

I know most of you will stop reading at this point because of the following
reasons:

1. "I don't know how to dance": No fear! I shall teach you - both routines and technique. I have been on the CU Dancesport Team (CUDT) for the past three years and have captained the Christ's College team (yes, we do have
one) for the past two. If anything, you'll definitely be able to use these routines at any May Balls you'll be attending and impress your lucky date (as well as all your friends) with your excellent technique.

2. "I don't have a partner": No worries, I have a few extra women (possibly from New Hall whom to Margs are quite well acquainted with) who are also looking for partners and I shall hook you up with a compatible one.

3. "I'm no good": I've never believed that not everyone can dance. I shall be organizing practice sessions where you can rock up with your partner and practice. I shall be there to help you with any problems you face and generally improve your dancing. Either way, no dancers on CUDT will be allowed to dance with another dancer on the team so everyone's going to be at almost the same standard.

The details of the event are as follows:

Date: 26th April 2008 (Saturday)
Venue: Main Dining Hall, University Centre, Mill Lane (near Dojo's) Doors Open: 2pm First Round: 3pm Expected finish: 9pm Cost of Entry: £3 single comp; £5 multiple comps; £1 spectators

Christ's College came second last year, losing only by a single point to Trinity College who rocked up at the very last minute with a pretty damn good alumnus. I would really really really like to win the Cuppers cup this year and I really really really think we have a very good chance of doing so. So hit me back if you're keen (@ hyky2) and I'll sort the rest out for you.

Hoping to hear from you,
Kenneith Yong"
