Old Members Sporting Awards 2013-14

The six major awards went to:

Andrew Aistrup (University and national Trampoline Gymnastics) : W Blyth Sporting Award

Ilanda Goodman (Full Blue in Tennis) : Jeremy Taylor Award

James Hoad (Full Blue Cross Country, and Captain of CU Orienteering club) : Wilfred Wooller Award

Megan Wilson (University Women’s Cross Country Captain) : A C Blyth Sporting Award

Miranda Pottinger (Cambridge University Netaball Starting Line): Richard de la Hoyde Sporting Award

Zara Reid (Full Blue in Hockey) : Garry Owen Sporting Award


Old Members Sporting Awards 2012-13

The four major awards went to:

Amelia Southgate

Amelia is a second-year Natural Scientist and Captain of Cambridge University Womens Association Football Club. Amelia is set to play in her second varsity match later in the year. As well as representing the University, Amelia plays a leading role in the very succesful college football and hockey teams.

Simon Morris

Simon is a fourth-year Mathematician and President of Cambridge University Lightweight Rowing Club. Simon has rowed for Christ’s M1 for the majority of his time at Christ’s but has also enjoyed competing for various other college clubs.

Anna Pugh

Anna is a second-year Classicist and Captain of the Cambridge University Women’s Lacrosse Club. In an extremely successful season for her team, the Cambridge University Women’s Lacrosse Club were BUCS champions of 2013. In addition, Anna also holds a position on the women’s Blues committee.

James May

James is a second-year Historian and a key player in the Cambridge University Association Football Club 1st XI. After receiving a blue last year, James is has been part of a succesful side, performing strongly in BUCS and is set to receive a second blue at this years Varsity match at Selhurst Park.

Old Members Sporting Awards 2011-12

The four major awards went to:

Cameron Johnston: A.C. Blyth Sporting Award

Cameron is a third-year Historian and Captain of Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club, ranked number 1 for tennis in the University. He is likely to play in this year’s biennial Prentice Cup Match between Oxford and Cambridge and Harvard and Yale. He won the Wooler Sporting Award last year.

Daniel Longman: W. Blyth Sporting Award

Daniel is a PhD student in biological anthropology and a member of the final squad for this year’s Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. He will trial for the Great Britain team later in the year. In previous years he was involved in many different sports at College level.

Ellie Russell: Richard de la Hoyde Sporting Award

Ellie is a second-year lawyer and a full Blue in Women’s Lacrosse. She has played every match for the Blues team since being selected in her first year, and the team is undefeated so far this year. She has been selected for this year’s Varsity March and so will receive a second Blue. She also plays in the College’s mixed lacrosse team.

Nicholas Codrington: Wooller Sporting Award

Nicholas is a second-year student reading Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. He played in the U21s Rugby Union Varsity Match at Twickenham in December 2011. He is also the youngest member of the University Ice Hockey Blues squad and should earn a Half-Blue at this year’s Varsity Match. He is involved in several College teams.
