I'm Andy Cai, a first year engineering student and the JCR international rep this year.
A little about myself, I was born in China but moved to Australia in year 7. Having travelled to places with different cultures and languages, I know exactly how you guys feel about adapting to the intense college life here at Cambridge.
As the international rep, I will strive to improve the college experiences of both current international students and the future generations to come. In order to achieve this I am responsible for sustaining and improving international support systems, organising events and represent the voice of the international community.
As internationals we all have a lot on our plates, and I will do my best to alleviate some of the concerns you have. Whether it is missing what you love from your home country, wanting to meet people you can connect with or simply struggling to decide which Chinese restaurant to visit tonight, I'd love to be of help.
Culture is what makes us unique and gives us the capacity to enrich and add colour to the college experience of others. Together with my team, I will also create the platform for us all to share the best things we have brought all this way over, with our friends who would love to try some interesting cooking, watch a good film in another language or play an exotic board game.
Together, we will form a supportive, caring and enriching international community, so that we can all make the most of our time here in Christ's, a place where we belong.
